Top 5 Tuesday – long lasting, bright lipsticks!

I’ve been loving my colourful lipsticks lately, so I’ve put together 5 of my favourites, that I find I’ve been reaching for more and more.

L’Oreal Color Riche Collection Exclusive Reds in ‘Blake’s Red’ R149.95

L’Oreal released these a while back, with a different red to suit the skintones of their spokeswomen.  I chose Blake’s Red, based on Blake Lively (even though I wanted at least 3 others!), as it seemed to be a lovely deep, more blue toned red.
The formula is matte, and it lasts all day long, as well as smelling delicious!  This red suits so many other skin tones as well, as my mom and sister have both bought it and love it too.

LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in ‘Tulle’ R59.95

These were released pretty recently here in SA, in Dischem.  I know they’ve been spoken about by so many other bloggers, both here and in the States, and it can be a bit of a hit or miss with the different shades.  I picked up Dreamy and Tulle, but I love this bright, hot pink shade so much – it brightens up my day just looking at it.

Formulated to go on liquid and dry matte, they can feel sticky even after drying, which isn’t fantastic, but they last unbelievably well, and the colour is good and opaque.

MAC matte lipstick in ‘Heroine’ R210

I’d been longing for this lipstick for ages, and got given it as a present for my birthday.  It looks incredibly dark in the tube, but you can apply it with a light hand for a more berry, bitten look, or build it up to be an intense purple.  It’s such an unusual colour, and it lasts really well throughout the day.  It can feel a little drying so always use a lipbalm before applying it!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in ‘Fiore’ R245

These Stila liquid lipsticks are known for their staying power, and the gorgeous colour range.  I have Patina as well, which is a darker nude shade, but Fiore is a fiery bright pink.  It goes on so beautifully, and stays put even through eating avo on toast, and drinking multiple cups of tea (trust me, I tried haha).

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in ‘Personne ne Rouge’ R125.95

I love the texture and feeling of these Velvet lipsticks – they go on liquid but don’t feel liquidy (if that makes sense), and when they dry to a matte finish, they don’t FEEL matte.  They leave your lips still feeling comfortable and soft, and while they don’t stay put as well as their regular matte liquid lipstick counterparts, they still last pretty darn long.

This was the basic red colour, although I’d like to try Hot Pepper, a more orangey red colour.
