My all-time favourites

I’ve been doing some browsing through different blogs this week, and I saw that Tori from Kiss, Blush and Tell has started a new series – My All-Time Favourites.  She has a set of questions that she’s answered herself, and has had Camilla from All Dolled Up answer too.

Now, I know that this isn’t a tag, but I did like the concept behind it, so I decided to answer the questions myself!  I have added in a few extras too.

SKINCARE

My all-time favourite cleanser:
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil – I use a micellar water to remove all of my makeup, and then I go in with a cleanser.  This is my go-to cleanser, and I think I’m on my fourth bottle now.
My all-time favourite serum:
Clarins Double Serum – As much as I like trying out different serums and oils for my skin, I always come back to this one.
My all-time favourite face mask:
Skin Republic Brightening Vitamin C sheet mask – This face mask brings my skin back to life when it’s looking dull, it hydrates it and leaves it soft and smooth.  Plus, if you have an event on or a special occasion, using this before applying your makeup really preps your skin amazingly, and gives you this incredible glow!
My all-time favourite toner:
Avéne Thermal Spring Water Spray – I don’t use an actual toner, but I use this spray every single day, twice a day, before I apply any other face products.  I even make sure I have a new one, before my current one runs out, as I notice the difference in my skin if I don’t use this.

My all-time favourite moisturiser:
I don’t have just one!  My two favourites are the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturiser for the day time, as it makes my skin look and feel amazing, as well as allowing my makeup to sit nicely on top.  Clarins Hydraquench Cream for either day or night – it’s light enough for daytime, yet hydrating enough for nighttime.  It’s also my go-to winter moisturiser, as it’s the only thing that can keep dehydration and redness at bay.
My all-time favourite exfoliant:
Codage Paris Créme Gommante Scrubbing Cream – I received a travel size tube of this in my International Box Swop (see post here), and I was so sad when it was finished.  It’s not a brand I’ve ever seen in South Africa, yet I’ve never found an exfoliator that works quite like it.  It was a thick white cream with scrubby bits in it, and you worked it onto dry skin until all the cream had absorbed, and then rinsed it off.  My skin was left incredibly smooth and soft.  I would love to find a way to get hold of this!  A good mention goes out to the Guinot Gommage Biologique Biological Peeling Radiance Gel – this gel smells like heaven, and you simply massage it into your skin until it turns watery.  It’s even great for sensitive skins!

P.S. Strange how both of my exfoliants are from French brands… Perhaps they make the best exfoliators?

My all-time favourite make up remover:
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – I used to be a hardcore Bioderma fan, until I tried this much more budget friendly version.  I find it to be better for my skin than the Bioderma which is more than twice the price (don’t you love it when that happens??).
My all-time favourite lip treatment:
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant or Nuxe Rêve De Miel Lip Balm – Both of these are amazingly rich and nourishing balms for your lips, and both can be used as a sort of multi-usage product for dry cuticles, dry patches, etc.  They’re completely different textures, yet I love them equally.

My all-time favourite tanning product:
Fake Bake Flawless self tan liquid – When it comes to self tan, I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for.  As much as it’s an insane amount of money to spend on one tanning product, no other self tanner gives me such a natural, long-lasting, streak-free, flawless tan.
MAKEUP

My all-time favourite foundation:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup – I will never stop loving this foundation.  I always come back to it, and despite there being ‘dupes’ out there, they’re never as good as this.  It comes in a huge variety of shades, it lasts all day long and leaves your skin looking incredible.  I have even had people come up to me and ask me what foundation I use, when wearing this.
My all-time favourite BB cream/tinted moisturiser:
Sorbet BB Cream – I’ve tried so many and none come close to the coverage and finish of this BB cream.
My all-time favourite concealer:
Catrice Camouflage Cream – It has high coverage, it doesn’t crease, and it lasts all day long.  I’m on my third pot, and I will always repurchase this.
My all-time favourite blusher:
Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in 54 Rose Frisson – This is my third little round pot, and my second one in this shade.  These tiny pots are very pigmented, the colour lasts almost all day without touch ups, and a pot will last you ages.
My all-time favourite highlighter:
Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder – It’s just perfect.  End of story.

My all-time favourite bronzer:
Benefit Hoola Bronzer – It’s pigmented so you don’t need to use too much, and it’s the perfect shade for both bronzing and contouring.

My all-time favourite mascara:
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – I’ve never really wanted to commit to one mascara, but if I could only use one for the rest of my life, it would be this one.
My all-time favourite eyeshadow:
Too Faced eyeshadows – I haven’t had it long enough to honestly warrant this, and I only have their Chocolate Bar palette, but the quality, pigmentation and texture of these shadows are better than any I’ve ever tried.
My all-time favourite brow product:
Soap & Glory Archery Brown pencil – I couldn’t quite grasp doing my brows properly until I got my hands on this gem.  It even comes with a spooly, and it’s super fine, and lasts all day long.  It’s safe to say we’re going steady.
My all-time favourite lip product:
Colourpop Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks – I only have one, and it’s a recent purchase, but the formula is out of this world.  It’s not as long lasting as a matte finish, but it doesn’t feel drying on your lips, and still looks like a mostly matte finish liquid lipstick.
My all-time favourite setting spray:
Urban Decay Chill Cooling & Hydrating Setting Spray – I am obsessed with this spray, as my makeup lasts so much longer when I use it.  It really does feel hydrating too!  I always used to gravitate towards MAC Prep & Prime Fix + spray, which is still an amazing (and cheaper) option, I just prefer the Urban Decay one.
