This empties post will be a lot smaller than my last few. I have a box under my desk where I throw any empty products, and I just felt an OCD urge to empty it out and have it feeling clean for the new month, so here we go!
Woolworths Love Your Skin Argan Oil Infused 2-in-1 Bath and Shower Oil (R180 for 200ml from Woolworths stores)
I loved the nourishing scent of this oil, and it was fantastic to shave with, as it left my legs feeling super soft and smooth. Towards the end it got quite thick and gloopy, as opposed to the thin oily consistency that it was when I first purchased it, but it still did the same job. Perhaps it was from the heat in the shower? If anyone knows why this happened, please let me know! Regardless, it was a fantastic product, and I’d definitely repurchase it.
Colab dry shampoo in New York fruity fragrance (around R89.95 for 200ml, exclusively from Clicks)
I love these dry shampoos, although I may switch back to Batiste once I’m finished my current one, as they’re a bit cheaper. I have no problem with the Batiste having a bit of a whiteness to it, as I’m blonde, but these really do work just as well, and are completely clear, so if you’re a darker-haired girlie on the lookout for a good dry shampoo, go and check these out (and if you’re keen on getting them, see when they’re on a 3 for 2 special).
OGX Sea Mineral Moisture Moisture Surge Deep Treatment (around R159.95 for 200ml, from Dischem)
I love hair masks and treatments, as I have highlighted blonde hair that really needs an extra something. This one is for weak, dry, damaged, over-processed or chemically treated hair, and smells like a spa, with a heavenly, fresh scent. It really does an incredible job at hydrating hair, leaving it shiny and healthy, without weighing it down. I have a couple of other treatments I’m trying to finish up, and then I’ll be repurchasing this one.
Malie system Ultra Hydrating Essence Masks in Vitamin and Aloe (I received these in my international box swop, which you can read about here)
The lovely Hayley sent me a ton of these sheet masks when we did a box swop, and these were the first two I used.
The Vitamin mask is to help revitalise stressed skin, and had herbs, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid in, to moisturise the skin. It tingled a little when I first put it on, but it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
The Aloe mask is anti-inflammatory, and helps promote blood circulation while detoxing the skin. It was very soothing, I could almost feel my skin sighing with relief when I applied it.
Freeman’s Honeydew and Chamomile Sleeping Mask sachet (R19.95 for 15ml from Dischem)
I love these Freeman’s mask sachets as they’re so cheap and you get more than one use out of each sachet. This sleeping mask is amazing – I do my usual night time skincare routine, and then on top of the moisturiser, I apply a bit of this. It helps to seal in all the other beauty products you’ve applied, and help them to do their job better, as well as hydrating your skin even more overnight. It smells delicious, and I can get up to 6 uses out of this sachet, as you only use a little at a time.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil (R170 for 28ml, from The Body Shop)
You can tell by how battered this bottle is, that I’ve loved, and used, and carried this around in my overnight toiletry bag one heck of a lot. It is a serum and a facial oil in one, so when travelling or staying somewhere overnight, it is so much easier to take this, rather than a serum AND an oil. It does a fantastic job at hydrating and nourishing the skin overnight, leaving you with a glowing complexion in the morning. I have a few other facial oils right now, and I am loving the Oils of Life facial oil too, so will most probably not be repurchasing this in the near future. It’s a great budget friendly product though!
FABULOUS! I’m so sad this face cream is finished, and I really want to repurchase this, but I have SO many other face creams to work through that it won’t be soon. I have dehydrated skin, especially around my nose and my chin, and it leads to redness and irritation. This is probably the best cream I’ve ever tried, as it is lightweight enough to not break me out, yet so so hydrating. It contains hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin and seaweed extracts, and has no parabens, and is not tested on animals. My skin was flawless and calm while I used it, and so glowy as well, without being oily (reading all of this, and thinking back, I’m tempted to give away all of my other creams and just repurchase this haha!). There are honestly just not enough ways to describe how much I loved this product, and I’d love to try out more from their line.
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix exfoliating facial pads (R185.50 for 60 pre-soaked pads, from Clicks stores)
These babies were even good for my sensitive skin! Zero irritations or reactions. They contain glycolic acid (to re-texture and resurface), hyaluronic acid (to moisturise and refresh) and blue daisy (to soothe and calm), and they leave skin feeling soft as a baby’s bum, and hydrated too. A definite repurchase in the future.
Maybelline Lash Sensational lash multiplying mascara (R115 from Zando/Dischem/Clicks/Redsquare)
My absolute favourite mascara EVER. I have already repurchased this, as it’s just so good, and I shudder to think of what may happen if it were to ever be discontinued. It adds length and volume, and separates lashes really well, and doesn’t crumble, flake or smudge.
L’Oreal Infallible 24H Matte mattifying foundation in 22 Radiant Beige (R189.95 for 35ml from Dischem/Clicks/Redsquare)
I have also already repurchased this foundation – it’s a great cheap alternative to the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (although NOTHING will ever be as good as it), as it lasts really well and has a full coverage. This shade will be too dark for me when winter hits, so I’ll have to find a lighter one to match my complexion.
Essence Make Me Brow eyebrow gel mascara in 02 browny brows (R47.95 from Dischem/Clicks/Redsquare)
This has been said to be a dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow, and it’s a lot cheaper too. I have never tried the Benefit version, but I love this Essence one, and have already bought another one. It’s the right colour for my darker eyebrows, it helps to fill in any sparse areas, as it has little fibres in that grab onto your own brow hairs, to create volume. It also keeps my eyebrows in place for the entire day.
